Invariant Point Capital

Proprietary trading · Hong Kong

Discipline that holds when markets move.

Invariant Point Capital is a Hong Kong proprietary trading firm. We trade our partners' own capital with systematic, research-driven strategies in listed equities, options and futures.

f(x*) = x*
The firm

A small partnership, trading its own capital.

The firm is owned and funded by its partners. It combines quantitative research, systematic trading and independent operations and risk oversight under one roof.

We trade for our own account only. We do not manage money for clients and do not accept outside capital.

Approach

Three rules we do not bend.

Research first

Every strategy starts as a testable hypothesis. It has to survive out-of-sample testing and realistic cost assumptions before any capital is committed.

Systematic execution

Rules decide entries, exits and sizing. Every change to a live strategy is logged, reviewed and dated.

Risk before return

Drawdown and position limits are set in advance and monitored independently of the people who build the strategies.

The name

An invariant point stays where it is when everything around it is transformed.

f(x*) = x*

In mathematics, a fixed or invariant point is the one point a transformation leaves unchanged. Markets transform constantly. We look for the relationships that hold through those changes, and we hold ourselves to the same standard: a process that does not shift with the mood of the market.
